Staff Summarv Backqround The City's Public Works Department has completed the NW 27th Avenue (NW 215th Street south to NW 151 St Street) Median Beautification Project. The contractor was responsible for maintaining the area during construction. In order to keep the area liter free and to maintain and ensure all of the plant materials remain neat and healthy, a licensed landscaping contractor's services is needed. Analvsis: City staff prepared specifications and advertised on November 1, 2007. A broadcast notice was sent to 1,014 vendors. Thirty vendors requested bid packages. The bids were opened on November 21, 2007. Six bids were received and publicity read. The tabulation sheet is attached as Exhibit "A". A copy of the proposal document and submittals are available at the Assistant to the Mayor and Council's office for review. K-19) CONSENT AGENDA Awarding Bid for maintenance of 1 medians and frontage roads ofNW 27`~, Avenue Medians The apparent low bid was evaluated for compliance with the specifications and their ability to perform the work. The references were checked by staff and all references were found favorable. Recommendation: That the City Council approves the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to SFM Services, Inc. located in Miami, Florida for the maintenance of NW 27~h Avenue medians and frontage roads in an amount not to exceed $53,000.00. 2 RESOLUTION No. 2007- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO SFM SERVICES, INC. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas 16 paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby 17 made a specific part of this Resolution. 18 Section 2. AWARD OF BID: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens 19 hereby awards a bid to SFM Services, Inc. located in Miami, Florida to provide for the 20 maintenance of NW 27th Avenue medians and frontage roads. 21 Section 3. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY MANAGER: The City Manager is 22 hereby authorized to issue a Purchase Order to SFM Services, Inc., in an amount not to 23 exceed $53,000.00. 24 Section 4.
