Capital Projects Maintenance Title A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY- NINE THOUSAND ($99,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE ELECTRICAL WORK ATTENDANT TO THE REPLACEMENT OF PARK LIGHTS AT NORWOOD AND MYRTLE GROVE PARKS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE Staff Summarv On March 14, 2007, City Council authorized the City Manager to issue purchase orders on an as needed basis for the repairs, maintenance and replacement of park lights to Electrical Contracting Services, Inc., located in Hialeah, Florida. Analvsis: City staff intends to replace and/or repair existing field lighting at Norwood Park and Myrtle Grove Park, respectively. In order to expedite the procurement process, we received quotations from Musco Lighting in accordance with the City of Jacksonville bid #SC-05110-06. City staff petitioned SNP MAAR Subcommittee regarding this scope modification on October 25th and was approved to proceed. The new field lighting is reflective of the standardized design for all future park designs, exhibiting L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) elements, green principles and focused projection allowing minimal reflection into neighboring residences. J-7) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTION ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICES, INC. Electrical Contracting Services is authorized by Musco Lighting to install Sportscluster Green Systems. Electrical Contracting Services provided a quotation to repair and replace the parks lights at Norwood Park and Myrtle Grove Park in accordance with the City's current contract. Copy of the quotation is attached as Exhibit "A". Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Electrical Contracting Services, Inc. for the replacement of park lights in the amount of $99,000.00 in accordance with the City's Parks Lighting Electrical Maintenance specifications. RESOLUTION No. 2007- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY-NINE THOUSAND ($99,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE ELECTRICAL WORK ATTENDANT TO THE REPLACEMENT OF PARK LIGHTS AT NORWOOD AND MYRTLE GROVE PARKS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 2 3 4 WHEREAS, City staff has determined, that certain improvements need to be made with respect to the lighting at Norwood and Myrtle Grove Parks respectively, and WHEREAS, City staff has recommended to the City Council that the City issue an RFP to Musco Sports Lighting, LLC for the purchase of certain lighting for the parks, 5 and 6 7 8 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to retain the services of an electrician in order to install the proposed lighting, and 9 Manager to issue a Purchase Order in the amount of Ninety-Nine Thousand 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 ($99,000.00) Dollars, to Electrical Contracting Services, Inc. WHEREAS, City staff is recommending that the City Council permit the City NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.
