FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF AN EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH AIR
B SCHOOL BUS TRANSPORTATION, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS, NOT TO EXCEED THE
BUDGETED AMOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Staff Summarv
The City Council authorized the award of ITB#05-06-001 Bus Transportation Services
and authorized the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Air B School Bus
Transportation, Inc. on December 14, 2005.
Analysis:
The term of contract in the specifications allows for the contract to be extended for an
additional four years on a yearly basis, pending budget allocation and the discretion of
the City. Bus services are required for after school programs and summer/holiday camp
programs.
Staff is pleased with the overall performance of the company and is recommending
renewal of the existing services.
Recommendation:
We recommend that the City Council approve the attached resolution to renew bus
transportation services and authorize the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Air

TRANSPORTATION, INC.
B School Bus Transportation, Inc., located in Miami, Florida, in an amount not to exceed
the budget amount of $170,000.00 for bus transportation services.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF
AN EXISTiNG AGREEMENT WITH AIR B SCHOOL BUS
TRANSPORTATION, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER

1 WHEREAS, on December 14, 2005, the City Council authorized the award of
2 ITB#05-06-001 Bus Transportation Services and authorized the City Manager to issue
3 purchase orders to Air B School Bus Transportation, Inc. ("Air B"), and
4 WHEREAS, the Contract with AIR B will expire on December 14, 2007, and
5 WHEREAS, the Contract can be extended for an additional four years on an
6 annual basis, pending budget atlocation and the discretion of the City, and
7 WHEREAS, bus services are required for after school programs and
8 summer/holiday camp programs, and
9 WHEREAS, City staff is pleased with the overall perFormance of AIR B and is
10 recommending renewal of the existing Contract,
11 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
12 OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
13 Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
14 paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
15 made a specific part of this Resolution.
16 Section 2. AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
17 hereby authorizes a four year extension to that certain agreement between the City and
18 AIR B School Bus Transportation, Inc., and furtfier authorizes the City Manager to issue

19 purchase orders on an as needed basis, not to exceed the budgeted amount of
20 $170,000.00.
21 Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
22 upon its final passage.
23 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
24 GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 14, 2007.
