Crew RFP/RFQ/Bid #_ Title Quasi-Judicial ^ Resolution X 2nd Reading ^ Yes ^ No X A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING DONATED FURNITURE FROM THE LAW FIRM OF RESTANI & MCALLISTER, P.A., AT NO CHARGE FOR USE IN THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. StafF Summarv The Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD) was contacted by representatives of the law firm of Restani & McAllister, P.A., which is located at 201 Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables, Florida. The firm advised that they had several pieces of furniture which were no longer needed, and requested to know if they could donate the items to the MGPD for use in the new police building. MGPD staff members viewed the following items and found them to be in good condition which would allow for immediate use. Staff made provisions to obtain this equipment from the law firm and transported same to the new police facility. The items which were donated are as follows: 1 Eight foot wood conference table with eight accompanying chairs 1 Green leather couch 1 51" Round table 2 Three drawer lateral file cabinets 1 Five drawer lateral file cabinet J-3) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTION RESTAI~TI & MCALLISTER, P.A. Recommendation: That the City Council approves the attached resolution accepting the donated items into the CMG inventory. RESOLUTION No. 2007- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING DONATED FURNITURE FROM THE LAW FIRM OF RESTANI & MCALLISTER, P.A., AT NO CHARGE FOR USE IN THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 WHEREAS, representatives of Restani & McAllister, P.A., contacted the City of 2 Miami Gardens and informed the City, that they had various pieces of furniture for 3 donation to the City of Miami Gardens for use in the new Police Building, and 4 WHEREAS, the City staff has examined the donated goods and have determined 5 that they are in good condition and that the City would be able to make use of them in 6 the Police Department, and 7 WHEREAS, the City Council would like to authorize the City Manager to accept 8 the donated goods and to make use of them in the City's Police Department, 9 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 10 OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: 11 Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas 12 paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby 13 made a specific part of this Resolution. 14 Section 2. AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens 15 hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept those goods outlined in the Staff 16 Summary attached hereto from the law firm of Restani & McAllister, P.A. 17 Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately 18 upon its final passage. 19 20 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 10, 2007.
