Bratton Councilman Aaron Campbell Councilman Andre Williams Councilwoman Sharon Pritchett Councilwoman Barbara Watson MEMORANDUM To: The Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Daniel A. Rosemond, Community Dev iopment Director Thru: Dr. Danny O. Crew, City a Date: September 13, 2007 Re: Affordable Housing Committee (9-26-07 Agenda) This memo is to provide you pertinent information on an item that will be included in the September 26, 2007 City Council Meeting Agenda. The item requests the Council's appointment of inembers to the City's Affordable Housing Committee. You may recall that the creation of this committee is one of the requirements from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation in order for the City to be awarded State Housing Initiative Partnership Funds (SHIP). Attached for your review is a spreadsheet that reflects the committee composition along with the individual(s) recommended to fill each slot. Also attached are the resumes of each of these individuals. On May 2, 2007 we requested recommendations from the Council for appointments to this committee. Said recommendations are included on the attached list. Please be reminded that this committee will serve only in an advisory role. Their purpose will be to review initiatives to spur and retain affordable housing units within the City. Their review of this subject matter will translate into recommendations that will then be brought back to Council for final approval and incorporation into our land development regulations. The term of this committee will be for one (1) year. Should you or any of your constituents have any questions regarding this matter, I may be reached at (305) 622-8036.
