Staff Summarv The City Council approved the purchase of the Police and Public Works properties on April 11, 2007. The exercise/weight equipment was included in the purchase and donated to the Police Department for their use. The space which was designated for the gym has since been allocated for additional use by the MGPD motor unit and School Crossing Guard staff. As such there will not be adequate room to use the equipment nor is there room to store it. In perForming an inventory of the equipment, the condition is considered "fair" and would require repairs before being used. Using them in the current condition would present some concerns of potential liability. We recommended declaring these items as surplus. An inventory of this equipment is attached (Exhibit A). The City participated in the Southeast Florida Cooperative Group RFP for Auction Services. Fisher Auction Company, Inc. located in Miami, Florida was awarded "On- Site Auction Services" and Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc. located in Ft. Worth, Texas was awarded "Internet Auction Services". Staff will arrange to have one of the Auction companies auction the miscellaneous equipment and office supplies.
