WILLIAMS JR. BOULEVARD.” Staff Summary: City Council recently adopted an Ordinance preventing the renaming or conaming of any portion of 183rd Street also known as “Miami Gardens Drive,” due to the fact that this street is the City’s namesake. Recently, Miami-Dade County initiated a proposal whereby Northwest 42nd Avenue from 167th Street to 199th Street would be codesignated as “Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr. Boulevard.” The City of Miami Gardens wishes to support that effort. Recommendation: Councilwoman Barbara Watson, recommends that the City Council approve the attached resolution. WILLIAMS JR. BOULVARD;” PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has notified the City of Miami Gardens that it would like to codesignate Northwest 42nd Avenue from 167th Street to 199th to “Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr. Boulevard,” and WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has requested that the City of Miami Gardens support its efforts to codesignate Northwest 42nd Avenue, and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens had previously expressed that it does not desire that any portion of 183rd Street, “Miami Gardens Drive,” be codesignated or renamed, since it is the City’s namesake, however, the City Council of the City of Miami Gardens fully supports Miami-Dade County’s efforts to redesignate a portion of 42nd Avenue to “Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr. Boulevard,” NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2. EXPRESSION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby expresses its support for the efforts of Miami-Dade County to codesignate Northwest 42nd Avenue from 167th Street to 199th Street as “Bishop Isaiah S.
