A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE SUCCESS
GRANT AGREEMENT FROM THE UNITED STATES SOCCER
FEDERATION FOUNDATION, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS
RELATED TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AWARD,
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the United States Soccer Federation Foundation Inc., ("USSFF") is
committed to helping young people embrace an active and healthy lifestyle, using
soccer to cultivate critical life skills that pave the path to a better future, and
WHEREAS, USSFF is collaborating with the City of Miami Gardens Parks and
Recreation Department to offer a multi-faceted program that will offer structured
physical activity, nutritional education, safe spaces to play, and mentorship to help kids
excel, and
WHEREAS, the grant will provide field equipment, player kits, and funding for
background checks for two 12 week sessions in the spring and summer of 2021, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends the City Council for the City of Miami Gardens
accepts the Success Grant Agreement from The United States Soccer Federation
Foundation, Inc.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby accepts the Success Grant Agreement from The United States Soccer
Federation Foundation, Inc., and authorizes the City Manager to execute any and all
documents related to the acceptance of this award, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 27, 2021.
