A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
VICE MAYOR REGGIE LEON'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($700.00), FOR AERIAL FOOTAGE AND
PHOTOGRAPHY, NUNC PRO TUNC, TO DECEMBER 27, 2020;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in an effort to bridge the gap between Law Enforcement and the
community, Vice Mayor Reggie Leon, along with a few others, coordinated the One
Miami Bike Ride, and
WHEREAS, the bike ride's main objectives were to create a way for officers to
increase interaction with the public and provide an opportunity to have one on one
contact with members of the community, by riding together through some of the
neighborhoods and communities in Miami-Dade County, and
WHEREAS, this event to unify the Miami-Dade County communities and our
police departments, was joined by elected officials and esteemed community members,
and
WHEREAS, the bonding experience makes police more approachable; an
important factor in improving police-community relations, and
WHEREAS, the One Miami Bike Ride event took place on Sunday, December
27, 2020, at 8:30 AM, starting location at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex,
3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, and
WHEREAS, the event was covered by aerial footage and photography, and
WHEREAS, funding for the photographer will be allocated from the Public Affairs
Special Events Account No. 001-12-02-512-492-02, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is requesting funding from the Public Affairs
Special Events Account in the amount of $700.00 be approved nunc pro tunc, for the
sponsorship of aerial footage and photography,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from the Public Affairs Special Events Account for Seven
Hundred Dollars ($700.00), for sponsorship of drone/event photography.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
