A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THE FY2020 EDWARD BYRNE GRANT IN
THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED
AND FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($55,958.00) TO FUND THE
MIAMI GARDENS POLICE DEPARTMENT PROFESSIONAL
COMPLIANCE SOFTWARE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS
REQUIRED BY THIS GRANT PROCESS; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department has applied for and
has been awarded grant funding from the United States Department of Justice FY2020
Edward Byrne Grant, in the amount of $55,958.00.
WHEREAS, the funding from this grant will be used to fund the Miami Gardens
Police Department Professional Compliance software, Benchmark Analytics at a cost of
$34,000, and
WHEREAS, the primary goal of this project is to facilitate the transition into the
new National Incident Based Reporting System ("NIBRS"), and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used for Mark43 Software one (1) year sustainment
cost $20,279.26 towards renewal, and
WHEREAS, funds will go towards the 3% mandatory set-aside towards NIBRS
transition requirements in the total of $1,678.74, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council for the City of Miami
Gardens authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with the United States
Department of Justice Edward Byrne Grant in the amount to $55,958.00 and authorizing
the City Manager to execute renewal agreements and all related documents required,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with the United States
Department of Justice for the Edward Byrne Grant in the amount of $55,958.00; and
authorizing the City Manager to execute renewal agreements and all related documents
required by this grant process.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBFUARY 24, 2021.
