A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
MAYOR RODNEY HARRIS' SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE THOUSAND AND
THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS ($5,035.00), FOR LAW
ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE, NUNC PRO TUNC, TO
FEBRUARY 7, 2021; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease
caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first
case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and
WHEREAS, The disease has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing
pandemic, and
WHEREAS, Florida Division of Emergency Management administered the first of
two required COVID-19 vaccinations to seniors age 65 and over, and
WHEREAS, The Fountain Church located at 4601 NW 167 Street, Miami
Gardens, FL, partnered with local agencies to become a vaccination site on Sunday,
February 7, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and
WHEREAS, the Fountain Church anticipated to provide over 600 vaccinations to
individuals in the community who are 65 years and older and those who are medical
professionals, and
WHEREAS, the Fountain Church requested law enforcements assistance for
traffic and crowd control, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting an allocation of five thousand
and thirty five dollars ($5,035) from the Mayor's Special Events Account to cover the
cost of Law Enforcement services provided to Fountain Church on February 7, 2021
Nunc Pro Tunc, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocate funds Nunc Pro Tunc from the Mayoral Special Events Account for five
thousand and thirty five dollars ($5,035) for Law Enforcement services provided to
Fountain Church on February 7, 2021 .
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
