A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS' PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
($2,000.00), TO THE MIAMI GARDENS HIGHER EDUCATION
INITIATIVE; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens continues to provide programs and
opportunities for residents to develop their skillsets and earning potential, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens understands that importance of advocating
for educational success and encouraging residents in their pursuit of higher education
and to obtain various skills, and
WHEREAS, as a result, he is requesting funding from Seat 6 Public Affairs
Account in the amount of $2,000.00, to support high school graduates who are need of
additional funding to attend and graduate from an accredited intuition of higher
learning, and
WHEREAS, the Program will assist two (2) students yearly by providing funding
in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1 ,000.00) each to eligible high school
students who meet the following criteria, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from the Seat 6 Public Affairs Account in the amount of Two
Thousand Dollars ($2.000.00), to support The Miami Gardens Higher Education
Initiative.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 10, 2021.
