HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-037-3592_-_Worldsafe_1st_Amendment_-_Adopted.docxRESOLUTION NO. 2021-037-3592 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2021- 021-3576, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE A LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH WORLDSAFE 1ST TO UTILIZE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY IN ORDER TO ADMINISTER COVID-19 VACCINATIONS TO MIAMI GARDENS RESIDENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, like all cities across the globe, the City of Miami Gardens has been tested to the extreme with the Coronavirus Pandemic, and WHEREAS, from the onset of the Pandemic, we have dealt with the massive challenge of COVID-19 and have taken measures to control the spread of the virus in spite of facing massive implications due to our economic structure; our preparedness for such a crisis; and the extent to which our population’s health and livelihoods are vulnerable, and WHEREAS, on May 10, 2021 the City Council approved Resolution No. 2021-021- 3576 authorizing the license agreement between the City and Worldsafe 1st to administer COVID-19 Vaccinations to Miami Gardens Residents, and WHEREAS, said license agreement provided that Worldsafe 1st can utilize City- Owned property located at 2775 NW 183rd St in order to administer COVID-19 Vaccination program, and WHEREAS, the City-Owned property located at 2775 NW 183rd Street does not meet the State of Florida requirements to be a COVID-19 vaccination walk-up site, and WHEREAS, Buccaneer Pool, located at 18800 NW 28th Place, is feasible and meets the requirements of the State to be a COVID-19 vaccination walk-up site, and WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is recommending the City Council amend Resolution No. 2021-021-3576 by authorizing the City Manager and City Attorney execute an amendment to the license agreement with Worldsafe 1st for the use of Buccaneer Pool as a vaccination site, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. DocuSign Envelope ID: 9ED6C826-0B58-4392-8442-0F14B53CEB4A Page 2 of 2 Resolution No. 2021-037-3592 Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens authorize the City Manager and the City Attorney to execute the attached license agreement, in substantial form, with WorldSafe 1st, attached hereto as Exhibit A, to utilize City-Owned property located at 18800 NW 28th Place in order to administer COVID-19 Vaccinations to Miami Gardens Residents. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
