A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($5,000), FOR THE EMERGING BUSINESS AWARD;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the month of May is recognized as small business month, and
WHEREAS, small businesses and entrepreneurs play a pivotal role in
strengthening our local economy, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien would like to recognize small businesses
with The Emerging Small Business Award, and
WHEREAS, The Emerging Small Business Award provides a one-time award and
plaque per month to an eligible City of Miami Gardens small business in the amount of
one thousand dollars ($1,000) based on the criteria and requirements of the award
program, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an allocation of five thousand
dollars ($5,000) from the Seat 5 Special Events account for the monthly Emerging Small
Business Award, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby support allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Special Event Account in
the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000) for the monthly Emerging Small Business
Award.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 28, 2021.
