HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-062-3617_-_2021_Senior_Beautification_Program_-_Adopted.docxRESOLUTION NO. 2021-062-3617 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A PROGRAM TO PROVIDE BEAUTIFICATION SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OVER THE AGE OF FIFTY-FIVE (55); PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens recognizes the need to supplement services and programs for its’ residents during times of economic hardship, and WHEREAS, in an effort to keep the City beautiful and ease some of the senior residents’ financial burdens associated with property maintenance, Vice Mayor Reggie Leon desires to create a program that provides basic beautification services for senior (over the age of 55) residents, and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens will utilize funds from the State Housing Initiative Program (SHIP) to provide assistance for beautifications to include: exterior painting and light landscaping (tree trimming, mulch, edging, etc.) to qualified households, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to establish a program to provide beautification services to residents over the age of fifty-five (55). Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
