A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PIGGYBACK SOURCEWELL-NATIONAL JOINT
POWER ALLIANCE (NJPA) CONTRACT #030117 TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER TO PLAYMORE RECREATIONAL
PRODUCTS AND SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $379,840.60
FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF AN INCLUSIVE
AND SENSORY PLAYGROUND AT ANDOVER PARK;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has included a sensory playground at
Andover Park, and
WHEREAS, the multi-generational inclusive playground will include ramps for
wheelchair accessibility and play equipment with sensory elements such as sound and
textures which will benefit children with both physical and sensory disabilities like autism,
as well as typically developing children, and
WHEREAS, the procurement department seeks to piggyback Sourcewell-National
Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) Contract #030117, which expires on April 14, 2022, to issue
a purchase order to Playmore Recreational Products and Services for the purchase of
the new playground, and
WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase order is three hundred seventy-nine
thousand eight hundred and forty dollars and 00/100 cents ($379,840.60), and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
piggyback Sourcewell-National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) contract #030117 to issue a
purchase order to Playmore Recreational Products and Services in the amount of
$379,840.60 for the purchase and installation of an inclusive and sensory playground at
Andover Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
piggyback Sourcewell-National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) contract #030117 to issue a
purchase order to Playmore Recreational Products and Services in the amount of

$379,840.60 for the purchase and installation of an inclusive and sensory playground at
Andover Park.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 9, 2021.
