A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL
OF THE QUICK-BUILD PILOT PROJECT AT THE
INTERSECTION OF NW 22 AVENUE AND NW BUNCHE PARK
DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE
PURCHASE ORDER(S) AS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE
PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project “Quick-Build Project -
Intersection Crosswalk Improvements” consists of providing crosswalk markings on the
whole intersection and provide bicycle marking 50 feet from the intersection to 50 feet
away; and
WHEREAS, these markings would assist in a more visual application so vehicle
drivers can be extra careful as they approach the intersection; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Planning Organization, “TPO” chose the
intersection of NW 22 Avenue and NW Bunche Park Drive attached hereto as Exhibit “A’
- Aerial View, and
WHEREAS, this Project will need Miami-Dade County Traffic permitting/approvals;
and
WHEREAS, after project completion, the TPO will actively monitor the intersection
during the pilot phase and complete a final report, and
WHEREAS, this project (design and construction-mainly road markings), which will
be funded from the half penny tax - CITT budget, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council authorize this Quick-Build
Pilot Project at the intersection of NW 22 Avenue and NW Bunche Park Drive and
authorize the City Manager to issue Purchase Order(s) as needed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the approval of the Quick-Build Pilot Project at the intersection of NW

22 Avenue and NW Bunche Park Drive, and authorizes the City Manager to issue
purchase order(s) as needed to complete the project.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
