A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
RELY UPON CONTRACT NO. 16-17-001(P) AND FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES STATE TERM
CONTRACT NUMBER 43230000-15-02 TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS NOT EXCEEDING ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-SIX
THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT DOLLARS
AND FIFTY-NINE CENTS ($156,368.59) TO SHI
INTERNATIONAL CORP. TO PROVIDE MICROSOFT
SOFTWARE LICENSING AND SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Information Technology Department (IT)
currently has Microsoft software installed in City offices, and
WHEREAS, the City is required to pay SHI International Corp. annual fees to
obtain software licenses, software and support services, and
WHEREAS, the IT Department desires to piggyback Florida Department of
Management contract number 43230000-15-02, “Licensing Solutions Providers of
Microsoft Software and Services” which expires on January 31, 2022, to issue the
purchase orders to SHI International Corp., and
WHEREAS, the sum amount of the purchase orders will not to exceed one
hundred fifty-six thousand three hundred and sixty-eight dollars and 59/100 cents
($156,368.59) per year, and
WHEREAS, award of this contract is contingent upon receipt and approval of
insurance, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to rely
upon Contract Number 16-17-001(P) and Florida Department of Management Services
State Term Contract Number 43230000-15-02 to issue purchase orders not exceeding
one hundred fifty-six thousand three hundred and sixty-eight dollars and fifty-nine cents
($156,368.59) to SHI International Corp. to provide Microsoft Software Licensing and
Services for the City of Miami Gardens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
rely upon Contract Number 16-17-001(P) and Florida Department of Management
Services State Term Contract Number 43230000-15-02 to issue purchase orders not
exceeding one hundred fifty-six thousand three hundred and sixty-eight dollars and fifty-
nine cents ($156,368.59) to SHI International Corp. to provide Microsoft Software
Licensing and Services for the City of Miami Gardens.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 26, 2021.
