A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ONE-YEAR
RENEWAL OF INVITATION TO BID NUMBER 16-17-034 IN THE
AMOUNT OF $65,000.00 FOR CANAL RIGHT-OF-WAY
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE TO WEED-A-WAY, INC.;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS AS NEEDED FOR THIS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 23, 2017, staff issued an invitation to bid number 16-17-034
for Canal Right-Of-Way Landscape Maintenance Services, and
WHEREAS, in response to the invitation to bid, a responsible and responsive bid
was submitted by Weed-A-Way, Inc., and
WHEREAS, the bid provided for an initial contract term for one (1) year and the
City had the right to exercise the option to renew annually (subject to the appropriation of
funds) a maximum of four (4) one (1) year periods, and
WHEREAS, the current contract expires June 28, 2021, however, the City still
requires Canal Right-Of-Way Landscape Maintenance services, and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending the one-year renewal of invitation to bid
number 16-17-034 in the amount of $65,000.00 for Canal Right-of-Way Landscape
Maintenance Services to Weed-A-Way, Inc., and
WHEREAS, this will be the fourth (4th) and final renewal of four (4) renewal
options, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
issue purchase orders as needed for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council hereby authorizes the one-year renewal
of invitation to bid number 16-17-034 in the amount of $65,000.00 for Canal Right-of-Way
Landscape Maintenance Services to Weed-A-Way, Inc., and authorizes the City Manager
to issue purchase orders as needed for this purpose.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 23, 2021.
