AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING BUDGETARY
TRANSFERS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTIONS;
PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4.5 of the City of Miami Gardens (the
"City") Charter, the City Council adopted a Budget for Fiscal Year 2020-2021, and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to provide for certain transfers, appropriations and
authorizations based upon previous and anticipated revenues and expenditures,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to amend the
budget to reflect these changes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
Clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. AMENDMENT TO BUDGET:
A.The following positions are added to the adopted budget for the Fiscal Year
beginning October 1, 2020, and ending September 30, 2021:

addition of the new positions:

Explanation:
Transfer from the General Fund FY2021 Working Capitol account to offset the cost of adding two(2)
additional Legislative Analyst/Assistant to City Council Member positions
SECTION 3. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY MANAGER: The City Manager
is authorized to take all actions necessary to implement the terms and conditions of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 4. CONFLICT: All ordinances or Code provisions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by
any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct
and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
