A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA ALLOCATING ($2000.00) FROM
MAYOR RODNEY HARRIS' SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT
FUND TO SUPPORT THE OASIS OF MIAMI GARDENS
EFFORTS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND UPLIFT FOR CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS' SMALL BUSINESSES AND
ENTREPRENEURS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris and the City of Miami Gardens is committed to
the ongoing small business support for our small businesses and entrepreneurs, as the
impact of the COVID-19 pandemic thwarted the growth of many small businesses
throughout south Florida, and
WHEREAS, the Oasis at Miami Gardens are helping our Miami Gardens' small
business owners and entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses, as they provide
small businesses support through technical assistance, workshops, trainings, mentoring
and networking opportunities, and
WHEREAS, these services are available for over 300 local business owners and
entrepreneurs to leverage to achieve their short and long-term business goals, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris believe that a thriving local economy is hinged
upon the successes of its small businesses and entrepreneurs, therefore, Mayor Rodney
Harris would like to allocate ($2000.00) from his Special events account line item (001-
11-01-511-490-01) to support the Oasis of Miami Gardens' monthly "First Fridays
Business Breakfast Series", and their overall agenda to uplift the City of Miami Gardens'
small business community, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby support the Oasis of Miami Gardens' support to our small business owners and
entrepreneurs.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
