A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS’ STAGE SHOWMOBILE AND A
WAIVER OF ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE FOR
THE COMMUNITY YOUTH AGAINST VIOLENCE YOUTH RALLY
EVENT AT CALDER CASINO' PARKING LOT FOR SATURDAY,
AUGUST 7, 2021; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris finds it imperative for the City of Miami Gardens
to take a proactive approach as it relates to youth violence prevention, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris and the City of Miami Gardens will be partnering
with Community Youth Against Violence (CYAV) in an effort to empower Miami Gardens'
youth with a platform to express concerns, recommendations and have access to support
services, and
WHEREAS, in collaboration, they will be hosting a community youth rally event at
Calder Casino’ (21001 NW 27 Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33056) outdoor parking lot
area, and
WHEREAS, at the rally, there will be back-to-school resources and supplies,
support services, youth entertainment, food and refreshments, and words of inspiration
from community leaders and youth speakers, as this event is free to the public, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris believes this end of summer event is beneficial
for our Miami Gardens’ youth and families as we approach a new school year, therefore,
he is requesting approval for use of the Miami Gardens’ stage showmobile and a waiver
of all costs associated with the use for the upcoming community youth rally event
scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 1pm - 5pm at Calder Casino’ outdoor
parking lot area, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of the City of Miami Gardens’ stage showmobile and a waiver
of all costs associated with the use for the community youth rally event on Saturday,
August 7, 2021.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 28, 2021.
