A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
BETTY T. FERGUSON COMMUNITY COMPLEX OUTDOOR
AMPHITHEATER FOR THE CHILDREN’S TRUST “THE PEOPLE
MATTER POP-UP” WITH PAPA KEITH AND 103.5 THE BEAT;
PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF THE FEE FOR LAW
ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Children's Trust in collaboration with The People Matter Pop-up
with Papa Keith and 103.5 The Beat, would like to host a Family Expo at the Betty T.
Ferguson Community Complex, outdoor Amphitheater, and
WHEREAS, this event will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from
11am - 3pm, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harris would like to sponsor the use of the outdoor
Amphitheater, the west parking lot area and is requesting access to indoor restrooms to
support this family resource event, and
WHEREAS, the total cost associated with the use of the outdoor Amphitheater is
approximately Nine Hundred Forty-Seven Dollars ($947.00), and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harris requests that the Two Hundred Dollar ($200.00) per
officer, law enforcement support fee be waived,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of the Betty T. Ferguson Community Complex Outdoor
Amphitheater for the Children’s “The People Matter Pop-up” with Papa Keith and 103.5
The Beat and waives the fee for law enforcement support.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 28, 2021.
