A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM VICE
MAYOR LEON’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT
OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,00.00), FOR B. LEE’S 7TH
ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL DRIVE ON AUGUST 15, 2021;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, B. Lee’s 7th Annual Back to School Drive on Sunday, August 15,
2021, at Lester B. Brown Park, 19405 NW 32nd Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, from
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to provide the youth in our community with
the tools they need to succeed, and
WHEREAS, by providing book bags and school supplies, it supports students,
teachers and the local schools, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed the
amount of $2,000.00 from his Public Affairs Account to assist with offsetting the costs
associated with preparation (ie. Entertainment, additional supplies and refreshments) of
the back to school drive, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from the Public Affairs Special Events Account for Two Thousand
Dollars ($2,000), for B. Lee’s 7th Annual Back to School Drive to be held on Sunday,
August 15, 2021.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 28, 2021.
