A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATIONAL COMPLEX FOR THE
YOUNG BRILLIANT MINDS SUMMIT; AUTHORIZING
SPONSORSHIP FOR THE EVENT IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,000.00) FROM COUNCILWOMAN
SHANNON CAMPBELL’S SPECIAL EVENT ACCOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell will be hosting a Young Brilliant
Minds Summit 2021 at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex on September 18, 2021,
and
WHEREAS, this summit will be an interactive experience educating the youth on
starting and indemnifying a business as well as providing mentorship and networking
opportunities from individuals with successful businesses, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is requesting funding from the
Seat 1 Special Events Account in the amount of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) to
support the Young Brilliant Minds Summit,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex for the Young
Brilliant Minds Summit and authorizes sponsorship for the event in the amount of Seven
Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) from Councilwoman Shannon Campbell’s Special Event
Account.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 28, 2021.
