A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIENS PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE
SUM OF SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS
($6,400.00) TO SUPPORT COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S
OFF TO COLLEGE GIVEAWAY/BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT ON
AUGUST 7TH, 2021; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien will be hosting an ‘Off to College
Giveaway/Back to School Event’ on August 7th, 2021 at the Betty T. Ferguson Complex,
and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien’s ‘Off to College Giveaway/Back to
School Event’ is a community event where residents of the City of Miami Gardens will be
provided with supplies needed for back to school, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien realizes the restrains that was brought on
due to the COVID-19 pandemic and wants to make sure that the necessary tools are
provided for students to excel in school, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien is requesting funding of a budgeted
amount not to exceed Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($6,400.00) from the Seat 5
Public Affairs Special Event Account designated for each Councilperson, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien recommends that the City Council
approve this resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($6,400.00) from
Councilwoman Linda Julien’s Public Affairs Special Events Account to support the ‘Off to
College Giveaway/Back to School’ Event. .
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
