A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE A CHANGE ORDER TO ENCO, LLC, FOR
THE ADDITIONAL COST OF CONSTRUCTING A NEW PARK
BUILDING AT BENNETT LIFTER PARK IN THE AMOUNT OF
ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND SEVENTY-TWO CENTS
($1,494,500.72); PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in April 2014, the City of Miami Gardens (hereinafter “City”) residents
approved a General Obligation Bond (GOB) in the amount of sixty million dollars
($60,000,000) for the construction of and improvements to the City’s parks and related
facilities, and
WHEREAS, City Council approved ENCO LLC proposal response for RFP 15-16-
047 Bennett Lifter Park Improvements via Resolution 2016-192-3091 and negotiated and
executed a Contract in the amount of Nine Hundred Forty-Five Thousand Two Hundred
Ninety-Six Dollars and Thirty-Eight Cents ($945,296.38), and
WHEREAS, during the design process, it was determined that a new park building
was needed to accommodate the request of the community and to better serve Bennett
Lifter Park, and
WHEREAS, the design of the new building has been completed and the contractor
is requesting a change order to the Contract for the additional cost of constructing a new
building in the amount of One Million Four Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars and Seventy-Two Cents ($1,494,500.72), and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to
issue a change order to ENCO, LLC, for the additional cost of constructing a new park
building at Bennett Lifter Park in the amount of One Million Four Hundred Ninety-Four
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Seventy-Two Cents ($1,494,500.72),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a change order to ENCO, LLC, for the
additional cost of constructing a new park building at Bennett Lifter Park in the amount of

One Million Four Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Seventy-Two
Cents ($1,494,500.72).
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 28, 2021.
