A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA CONFIRMING THE CITY
MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION OF CRAIG CLAY, JULETTE
BURTON, AND YVETTE PHILIP TO THE EVALUATION
COMMITTEE FOR THE EXTERNAL AUDITING SERVICES
SOLICITATION AND APPOINTING VICE MAYOR REGGIE LEON
TO SERVE AS CHAIR FOR THE COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 13, 2021, the City of Miami Gardens (hereinafter “City”) issued
a Request for Proposal (RFP) # 20-21-016 - External Auditing Services on Bidsync, which
serves as the City’s bid advertising platform, inviting qualified firms to submit proposals
in response to the Request for Proposal, and
WHEREAS, this RFP is for External Auditing Services and is governed by Florida
Statutes 218.391, Auditor selection procedures, and
WHEREAS, Florida law requires the governing body of a municipality to establish
an auditor selection committee that consists of at least three (3) members with one
member being a member of the governing body to serve as the chair of the committee,
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that Deputy City Manager, Craig Clay,
Assistant Human Resources Director, Julette Burton, and Assistant Budget Director,
Yvette Philip, serve as members of the Committee, and
WHEREAS, the City Council must select a member to serve as Chair for the
Evaluation Committee for the External Auditing Services solicitation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby confirms the City Manager’s recommendation of Craig Clay, Julette Burton, and
Yvette Philip to the Evaluation Committee for the External Auditing Services solicitation
and appoints Vice Mayor Reggie Leon to serve as Chair for the committee.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
