A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FOUR THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($4,000.00) FROM THE SEAT 6 PUBLIC AFFAIRS
ACCOUNT TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO FOUR LOCAL NON-
PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Non-Profit organizations are essential to providing Miami Gardens
residents with valuable information, resources, and services, and
WHEREAS, it is crucial to support community organizations that strive to provide
public services which empower and uplift our community, and
WHEREAS, Sunshine’s Heart, Inc. provides year-round programs for youth grades
K-12, such as: Sunshine’s Heart Mentoring Program, Men Empowering Young Men,
Camp Sunshine, Sunshine’s Heart Academic Enrichment Program, and B.I.G. (Business
Inspired Generation), and
WHEREAS, SEEK Foundation has partnered with Miami Gardens and local
communities to provide equitable access to STEM/STEAM education and opportunities,
so that children, families, and teachers become secure and confident in their skills and
talents, and
WHEREAS, Progressive Firefighters Association Charities, Inc. empowers its
members to positively impact fire and rescue services in underserved communities,
focusing on: career development, fire prevention and safety, and social, economic,
marketing and community development, and
WHEREAS, Generational Cure, Corp. is a family system and culturally-sensitive
organization that provides a holistic approach to mentoring, consisting of individual, group
and family sessions, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens recognizes the impact each non-profit
organization has made within the Miami Gardens community, and
WHEREAS, each Non-Profit organization will receive a donation in the sum of
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00), to support services and programs through
which they each fulfill their mission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) to support each
Local Non-Profit contribution.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take place immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2021.
