A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
RESPECTIVELY THAT CERTAIN FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE
MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) FOR
LANDSCAPE, IRRIGATION, AND DECORATIVE PAVER
TRAFFIC SEPARATORS MAINTENANCE, A COPY OF WHICH
IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2014, the City Council authorized staff to enter into
the Landscape Maintenance Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida Department
of Transportation (FDOT) to provide landscaping maintenance services on NW 27th
Avenue, NW 183rd Street, and NW 2nd Avenue (441), and
WHEREAS, this First Amendment to the Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement
will allow FDOT to construct a safety pedestrian crosswalk on NW 27th Avenue in the
19500 block, and
WHEREAS, FDOT will add pavers and restore the landscaping which the City of
Miami Gardens (City) will continue to maintain, and
WHEREAS, the Amendment will incorporate all new work that will be completed
by FDOT, and
WHEREAS, this project will be completed at the expense of FDOT, and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager
to execute this First Amendment to the Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with
FDOT to construct a safety pedestrian crosswalk on NW 27th Avenue in the 19500 block,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest, respectively,
the First Amendment to the Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with Florida

Department of Transportation for Landscape, Irrigation, and Decorative Paver Traffic
Separators, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2021.
