A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA ALLOCATING FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($5,000) FROM COUNCILWOMAN KATRINA
WILSON'S SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT THE
WOMEN'S EXPOSITION IN FY 2020-2021, NUNC PRO TUNC
TO DECEMBER 1, 2020, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Women's Exposition was launched in 2019 with the intention to
highlight and focus on the positive impact women have had on the City of Miami Gardens,
and
WHEREAS, Due to the global pandemic the 2021 Women's Exposition was hosted
virtually during the month of March 2021, and
WHEREAS, The Elements of the 2021 Women's Exposition consisted of the
following:
1. Video production that highlights the impact done by the 10 honorees.
2. Private viewing of the videos with Councilwoman Wilson and the 10 honorees.
3. Release of the videos via social media during Women's History Month.
, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson is requesting to utilize $5,000 from her
Special Events Account to cover the cost associated with production of the Virtual 2021
Women's Exposition (WE) Event nunc pro tunc to December 1, 2020, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the reallocation of $5,000 from her Special Events Account to cover the
cost associated with production of the Virtual 2021 Women's Exposition (WE) Event nunc
pro tunc to December 1, 2020.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2021.
