A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE THIRD
RENEWAL OF AWARD OF INVITATION TO BID (ITB) NUMBER
16-17-033, ASPHALT ROADWAY RESURFACING;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS NOT TO EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 5, 2017, Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number 16-17-033, Asphalt
Roadway Resurfacing Annual Contract, was solicited via BidSync, and
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2017, the City Council approved the award of ITB
16-17-033, Asphalt Roadway Resurfacing Annual Contract to H&J Asphalt, Inc., and
WHEREAS, the terms of the contract were for an initial term of two (2) years with
the right to exercise the option to renew annually, subject to the appropriation of funds,
not to exceed a maximum of three (3) one (1) year periods, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval for a third and final renewal of the Asphalt
Roadway Resurfacing Annual Contract with H&J Asphalt, Inc. and authorization for the
City Manager to issue purchase orders as needed not to exceed the allocated budget for
Asphalt Roadway Resurfacing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council hereby authorizes a final renewal of the
Asphalt Roadway Resurfacing Annual Contract with H&J Asphalt, Inc. and authorizes the
City Manager to issue purchase orders as needed not to exceed the allocated budget for
Asphalt Roadway Resurfacing.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2021.
