A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING A THANKSGIVING
FOOD DISTRIBUTION (DRIVE-THRU) HOSTED BY ANTIOCH
MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH; AUTHORIZING A
SPONSORSHIP OF THE EVENT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00) FROM
COUNCILWOMAN CAMPBELL’S SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, many households are
experiencing hopelessness and hardships, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is seeking approval of the City
Council to sponsor the purchasing of non-perishable food items and turkeys, and
WHEREAS, the purpose is to assist Antioch Missionary Baptist Church to reach
their goal of providing at least 500 food baskets at their Annual Thanksgiving event, and
WHEREAS, this community outreach to families will occur on Tuesday, November
23, 2021 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 21311 NW
34th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Campbell is requesting to utilize $1,500 from her
Special Event Account towards the expenses associated with this food distribution, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Councilwoman Campbell’s Special Events Account in the
amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500), to support the Thanksgiving
Food Distribution (Drive-Thru) hosted by Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
