A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO SAFEWARE,
INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE STRAX RESPONSE
PLATFORM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE
HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($360,000.00) FOR A
THREE YEAR TERM, BY RELYING ON PORT OF PORTLAND,
OREGON, CONTRACT NO. 159469, A COPY OF WHICH IS
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, an essential part of the Real-Time Crime Center in the Miami Gardens
Police Department (hereinafter “MGPD”) is to view, record, and manage real-time critical
incidents through camera feeds from multiple video cameras efficiently and accurately,
and
WHEREAS, the Strax Response Platform allows for improved collaboration across
agencies and command structures for a faster, more coordinated response and enhanced
officer safety, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department (hereinafter “MGPD”) is
requesting approval to enter into a three (3) year agreement with Safeware, Inc., at an
annual cost of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) by relying on Port
of Portland, Oregon, Contract No. 159469, and
WHEREAS, funding for the software will be provided through the City of Miami
Gardens’ Repair and Maintenance Service Account #001-21-01-521-460-00, in
connection with the continued operating of the Real-Time Crime Center, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager
to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of the Strax Response
Platform, in the amount not to exceed Three Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($360,000)
for a three (3) year term, by relying on Port of Portland, Oregon, Contract No. 159469, a
copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc., for the
purchase of the Strax Response Platform, in the amount not to exceed Three Hundred
Sixty Thousand Dollars ($360,000) for a three (3) year term, by relying on Port of Portland,
Oregon, Contract No. 159469, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 8, 2021.
