HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-158-3712_-_RFP_(P)_20-21-029_Piggyback_Port_of_Portland_-_Adopted.docxRESOLUTION NO. 2021-158-3712 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO SAFEWARE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE MILESTONE VIDEO MANAGEMENT SOLUTION PLATFORM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY NINE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY FOUR DOLLARS AND THIRTY THREE CENTS ($49,984.33) ANNUALLY, AND ONE HUNDRED FORTY NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO DOLLARS AND NINETY NINE CENTS ($149,952.99) FOR A TOTAL OF THREE YEARS, BY RELYING ON PORT OF PORTLAND SAFEWARE CONTRACT NUMBER 159469, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, an essential part of the Real Time Crime Center in the Miami Gardens Police Department (hereinafter “MGPD”) is to view, record and manage real-time camera feeds from multiple video cameras efficiently and accurately, and WHEREAS, the Milestone Video Management Solution Platform allows the personnel in the Real Time Crime Center to manage multiple live video feeds in real time as criminal incidents occur while also allowing personnel to provide responding Law Enforcement personnel with real time information related to the incident, and WHEREAS, Procurement Code Section 2-757 (b)(2) provides an exemption from the bidding/quotation requirements for “The purchase of commodities or services in cooperation with another governmental entity in the state or the purchase of commodities or services from contracts previously awarded by other governmental entities that were competitively bid,” and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Police Department (hereinafter “MGPD”) is requesting approval to enter into a three (3) year agreement with Safeware, Inc., at an annual cost of Forty Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty Four Dollars and Thirty Three Cents ($49,984.33) by relying on Port Of Portland Safeware Contract Number 159469, and WHEREAS, the duration of the contract will extend a total of three years for an amount not to exceed One Hundred Forty Nine Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Two Dollars and Ninety Nine Cents ($149,952.99), and WHEREAS, funding for the software will be provided through the City of Miami Gardens’ Repair and Maintenance Service Account #001-21-01-521-460-00, in connection with the continued operating of the Real Time Crime Center, and DocuSign Envelope ID: 10B1B151-674D-491E-A8FB-9333DB989464 Page 2 of 3 Resolution No. 2021-158-3712 Whereas, City Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of the Milestone Video Management Solution Platform, in an amount not to exceed Forty Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty Four Dollars and Thirty Three Cents ($49,984.33) annually for a total of three years by relying on Port Of Portland Safeware Contract Number 159469, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of the Milestone Video Management Solution Platform in an amount not to exceed Forty Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty Four Dollars and Thirty Three Cents ($49,984.33) annually for a total of three years by relying on Port Of Portland Safeware Contract Number 159469a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
