A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE THIRD
RENEWAL OF AWARD OF INVITATION TO BID (ITB) NUMBER
16-17-029, FOR PARKS LIGHTING ELECTRICAL
MAINTENANCE TO IMPERIAL ELECTRICAL INC., AS THE
PRIMARY VENDOR AND ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING
SERVICE AS THE SECONDARY VENDOR AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS NOT TO
EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT ALLOCATED TO VARIOUS
DEPARTMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 31, 2017, staff issued Invitation To Bid number 16-17-029,
Parks Lighting Electrical Maintenance via BidSync, and
WHEREAS, in response to the Invitation To Bid, responsible and responsive bids
were submitted by Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. and Imperial Electric Inc., and
WHEREAS, City Council approved awards to both Imperial Electric, Inc. as the
primary vendor and Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. as the secondary vendor, and
WHEREAS, the bid provided for an initial term of contract for two (2) years and the
City had the right to exercise the option to renew annually (subject to the appropriation of
funds) a maximum of three (3) one (1) year periods, and
WHEREAS, the current contract expires on November 8, 2021, however, the City
still requires Parks Lighting Electrical Maintenance Services, and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending a one-year renewal of award of Invitation To
Bid number 16-17-029, not the exceed the budgeted amount allocated to various
departments of $5,000.00 for Parks Lighting Electrical Maintenance Services to Imperial
Electric, Inc. as the primary vendor and Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. as the
secondary vendor, and
WHEREAS, this will be the third (3rd) and final renewal of three (3) renewal
options, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
issue purchase orders as needed for this purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing “WHEREAS”
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council hereby authorizes a one-year
renewal of award of Invitation To Bid number 16-17-029, not to exceed the budgeted
amount of $5,000.00 for Parks Lighting Electrical Maintenance Services to Imperial
Electric, Inc. as the primary vendor and Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. as the
secondary vendor.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 8, 2021.
