PISGAH CHURCH, KRISTI HOUSE, INC., EXPERTS RESOURCE COMMUNITY CENTER, INC., SUNSHINE FOR ALL, INC., PROSPERITY SOCIAL & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (NOW PROJECT), THE NORTH MIAMI FOUNDATION AND THE S.E.E.K. FOUNDATION IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED SIXTY NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($169,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST RESPECTIVELY, SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENTS FOR THIS PURPOSE IN SUBSTANTIAL FORM AS THAT AGREEMENT, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, annually the City allocates Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the provision of public services to Miami Gardens residents, and WHEREAS, these funds are made available to interested non-profit and community based organizations applying through a formal Request for a Proposal (RFP) process, and WHEREAS, for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, a total of One Hundred Sixty-Nine Thousand Dollars ($169,000.00), is available for non-profit organizations under the public service category, and WHEREAS, on April 22, 2021, the City issued a RFP for the 2021-2022 program year, and WHEREAS, a total of eleven (11) proposals were submitted, and WHEREAS, seven (7) of the highest scoring agencies are being recommended to the City Council to receive funding for the 2021-2022 program year, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the City Council for the City of Miami Gardens allocates Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Public Service Funds as follows: A. $45,000.00 to S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc. Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church E. $15,000.00 to Prosperity Social & Comm. Dev. F. $15,000.00 to North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizen Svcs. G. $10,000.00 to Experts Resource Comm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby allocates Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Public Service Funds as follows: A. $45,000.00 to S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc. B. $34,000.00 to Sunshine for All, Inc. C. $30,000.00 to Kristi House, Inc. D. $ 20,000.00 to Mt. Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church E. $15,000.00 to Prosperity Social & Comm. Dev. F. $15,000.00 to North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizen Svcs. G. $10,000.00 to Experts Resource Comm. The City Council further authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest respectively, Subrecipient Agreements for this purpose, attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 3: INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK: The City Clerk is hereby authorized to obtain two (2) fully executed copies of the subject Agreements with one to be maintained by the City, and one to be delivered to each organization. Section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
