A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
SCHEDULE A COUNCIL PLANNING WORKSHOP ON JANUARY
26, 2022 AT 6:00 P.M. FOR THE CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS
CALENDARING FOR 2022 EVENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Miami Gardens is active and hosts multiple
events throughout the year for the residents of the City, and
WHEREAS, these events are separate and apart from the City’s Signature
events, and
WHEREAS, many of these event are similar in nature and it is possible for these
events to be held jointly, and
WHEREAS, if City Councilmembers hold events jointly this will ensure that staff
resources are available to accommodate all of the City events and it will limit having
multiple events on the same day compelling residents to pick and choose which events
to attend, and
WHEREAS, a workshop is the best mechanism for the City Council to have a full
and complete discussion on preparing a calendar of events, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is requesting that the City
Council conduct a planning workshop in order to plan for non-Signature events in 2022,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: DIRECTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK: The City Council of the City of
Miami Gardens hereby directs the City Clerk to schedule a planning Workshop on
January 26, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss a calendar of events for events.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 12, 2022.
