A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF
MARCH, AS NATIONAL KIDNEY MONTH IN THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, March is dedicated to National Kidney Month, and
WHEREAS, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affects almost 40 million American
adults, and
WHEREAS, in 2016, three-quarters of a million people in the U.S. required dialysis
or a kidney transplant, and
WHEREAS, Kidney Disease Awareness is symbolized by the color green, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannan Ighodaro recommends the City Council
recognize the Month of March 2022 as National Kidney Month in the City of Miami
Gardens, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby recognizes the month of March, as National Kidney Month in the City of Miami
Gardens.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 23, 2022.
