A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE DONATION
OF $250.00 FROM COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN’S PUBLIC
AFFAIRS ACCOUNT TO ENGAGE MIAMI. PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, non-profit organizations are essential to providing Miami Gardens
residents with valuable information, resources, and services, and
WHEREAS, it is crucial to support community organizations that strive to provide
public services which empower and uplift our community, and
WHEREAS, Engage Miami aims to mobilize young people in the Community and
inspire civic engagement and leadership in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, One of the organization’s goals is to achieve more democratic power
and influence in local governance, and
WHEREAS, they support housing and climate justice, safe communities that divest
from policing and incarceration, transit that works for everyone, and democracy that does
right by all in our cities and communities, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien recognizes the impact this non-profit
organization has made within the Miami Gardens community, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien recommends an allocation in the amount fo two
hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) from the Seat 5 Public Affairs Account in support of Engage
Miami.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) from the Seat 5
Public Affairs Account to support Engage Miami.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
