A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, SUPPORTING PARKVIEW
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL’S DOLPHINS IN THE GARDENS
ASSOCIATEDCOST THESHOWCASE; TALENT WAIVING
WITH THE USE OF THE SHOWMOBILE FOR WEDNESDAY,
MAY 25,2022;PROVIDING FOR T OFHE ADOPTION
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien would like to support with the facilitation
of Parkview Elementary School’s talent showcase scheduled to take place on
Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM, and
WHEREAS, Parkview Elementary School is a Title 1 school located in the heart of
Miami Gardens which serves students in grades Pre-K to Grade 5, and
WHEREAS, since the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the students’ academic
performance has regressed, along with their progress in other developmental and social
skills, and
WHEREAS, to address these challenges the school has implemented the Ketchup
& Mustard T.A.L.E.N.T afterschool program, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting the use of the city of Miami
Gardens’ showmobile for the duration of the event and a fee waiver of the estimated rental
cost in the amount of $1,200.00 for the showmobile rental,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of the City of Miami Gardens’ stage showmobile and a waiver
of all costs associated with the use for the Parkview Elementary School’s Talen
Showcase schedule for Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 11, 2022.
