A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN WILSON’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN
THE AMOUNT OF SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00); TO
SUPPORT FIELD OF POSSIBILITIES; AN HBCU HIGH SCHOOL
SCHOLASTIC &FOOTBALL COMBINE EXPERIENCE;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Field of Possibilities: An HBCU High School Scholastic & Football
Combine will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 and Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the
Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, and
WHEREAS, over this unprecedented two-day period, students will participate in a
series of tests, drills, and measured events that will best display each player’s talents and
their respective positions, and
WHEREAS, after the showcase activities, attending colleges and universities will
have the opportunity to meet with student athletes individually to discuss their respective
programs and scholarship opportunities, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson is requesting the allocation of Six
Thousand dollars ($6,000) from the Seat 4 Public Affairs Special Events account to
support the Field of Possibilities: An HBCU High School Scholastic & Football Combine,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) to support Field of
Possibilities: An HBCU High School Scholastic & Football Combine from Councilwoman
Wilson's Special Events account.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 11, 2022.
