A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNON CAMPBELL’S SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($1,000.00) TO SUPPORT THE BAHAS REUNION; PROVIDING
FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris and Councilwoman Shannon Campbell will host
City of Miami Gardens 2nd Annual Bahas Reunion, as part of the Black Music Month
celebration taking place on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Buccaneer Park, and
WHEREAS, Black Music Month, also known as African-American Music
Appreciation Month, was instituted to recognize and honor the contributions of Black
artists, composers, singers and other musical influences on the nation’s history, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is requesting an allocation of one
thousand dollars ($1,000.00) from her Special Events Account to assist with costs of the
Bahas Reunion event, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of funds from Councilwoman Shannon Campbell's Seat
1 Special Events Account in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to assist
with costs associated with the Bahas Reunion Event.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 25, 2022.
