A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
CITY OF BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATIONAL COMPLEX
AMPHITHEATER AND STAFFING, FOR THE MIAMI NORLAND
SENIOR HIGH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION'S COMMUNITY PICNIC
ON SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2022; AUTHORIZING AN IN-KIND
SUPPORT FOR THE EVENT IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY ONE DOLLARS
($6,581.00), FROM THE GENERAL FUNDS ACCOUNT FOR THE
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND POLICE
PROVIDING DEPARTMENT; ADOPTION THE OFFOR
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Miami Norland Senior High Alumni Association would like to host a
Community Picnic on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Betty T.
Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Reggie Leon would like to sponsor the use of Betty T.
Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater in support of Miami Norland Senior High
Alumni Association's Community Picnic, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to convene the community with alumni
and supporters of Miami Gardens' own Miami Norland Senior High for an enjoyable,
family-friendly event, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is requesting that the City waives the fees and costs
associated with utilizing Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater, police
services, and staffing, providing in-kind support for Miami Norland Senior High Alumni
Association's Community Picnic, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater and
in-kind support for the event in the amount of six thousand five hundred and eighty one
dollars ($6,581.00) from General Fund Acco Recreationuntsfor the Parks and
Department and Police Department.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
