A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING NEIGHBORHOOD
CRIME WATCH PROGRAMS IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA SEAT
3; AUTHORIZING A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) TO RAINBOW PARK CRIME
WATCH PROGRAM FROM COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN
"LADY"IGHODARO'S SEAT 3 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE
CITY THEOF ADOPTION PROVIDING FOR CLERK;THE
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Crime watch programs allow communities to come together to take
responsibility for their neighborhoods and to prevent crime, and
WHEREAS, Practicing crime safety measures eliminates opportunities for
criminals and helps others avoid becoming victims of crime, and
WHEREAS, Active crime watch programs in the City of Miami Gardens organize
monthly meetings where Residents voice concerns or present prevention and solution
ideas to potential or current problems. In addition, members volunteer to maintain
awareness of their surroundings, and
WHEREAS, In an effort to support the local crime watch programs in Residential
Area Seat 3 Councilwoman Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro would like to make a donation of
one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to RAINBOW PARK Crime Watch Program from the
Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Events Account,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes an allocation of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to Rainbow Park,
Crime Watch Program for a total amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) from the
Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Events Account.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 13, 2022.
