A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
FIVEEXCEEDTO NOT AMOUNTAN INEXPENDITURE
HUNDRED AND FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED
AND THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS ($552,737.00) FROM THE
(STATE) LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND (“LETF”) TO
PURCHASE A NEW MOBILE COMMAND VEHICLE (MCV)
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-845, of the City’s Code of Ordinance,
and the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, the City is authorized to expend funds from
the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (“LETF”), and
WHEREAS, the Miami Gardens Police Department is requesting to expend the
funding from its (State) Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) account, to purchase a new
2023 Freightliner M2 Chassis, 32-Ft Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV), and
WHEREAS, the City purchased an MCV in 2009 that is reaching the end of life. An
MCV is a critical element utilized by the Police Department during various incidents and
events including, natural and human-caused critical incidents, training, preplanned and
spontaneous law enforcement details, and public engagements, and
WHEREAS, directallowingfeaturesenhancedthewillMCV new include
communication with the Real-Time Crime Center as well as enhanced security cameras,
dispatch consoles, and smart board type technology. In addition, new safety cameras to
ease the movability and increase the usability of the MCV, and
WHEREAS, the State LETF funds will be allocated for the purchase of the Mobile
Command Vehicle at a cost of Seven Hundred Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy
dollars ($714,874.00),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the expenditure in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred and Fifty-
Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Seven Dollars ($552,737.00) from the State
Law Enforcement Trust Fund account to purchase a new MCV.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
