A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK ,TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR FILM PERMIT
PROCESSING; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY
CLERK;OF ADOPTION PROVIDING FOR THE
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in 2017,the City Council approved Resolution 2017-104-3209
authorizing the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest respectively, that
certain lnterlocal Agreement with Miami-Dade County to assist the City with processing
film permits for those individuals and entities wishing to film within the City of Miami
Gardens , and
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement allows the Miami-Dade Film Office to issue
permits on the City’s behalf, allowing film and still production companies to utilize facilities
and services authorized by the City, and
WHEREAS, the initial term of the Agreement was five (5) years, and expires this
year, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends the City Council renew the Interlocal Agreement
with Miami-Dade County for an additional five (5) year term,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest respectively,
that certain lnterlocal Agreement with Miami-Dade County for film permit processing for a
five (5) year term.
Section 3. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK: The City Clerk is hereby
authorized to obtain three (3) fully executed copies of the subject Agreement, with one to
the maintained by the City; with two to be delivered to Miami-Dade County Board of
County Commissioners.
Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
