A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($1,000.00) FROM VICE MAYOR REGGIE LEON’S
PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH PURCHASING
SERVICES AND GOODS FOR B. LEE’S 8TH ANNUAL BACK TO
SCHOOL DRIVE ON AUGUST 7TH, 2022; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, B. Lee Entertainment, an organization founded in 2012 by Brian Lee,
a Miami Gardens native, has hosted annual community events to support families and
pour into the youth of Miami Gardens, impacting more than Six Hundred (600) families,
and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Reggie Leon will be co-sponsoring B. Lee’s 8th Annual
Back to School Drive on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational
Complex, 3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm,
and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is requesting an allocation not to exceed the amount
of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) from his Public Affairs Account to assist in
purchasing services and donated goods (entertainment, refreshments and additional
school supplies) for this back to school drive event, and
WHEREAS, after the above allocation, Vice Mayor Leon will have a remaining
balance of One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($1,600.00) for the 2022 fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon recommends that the City Council allocate One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) from his Public Affairs Account to assist with purchasing
services and goods for B. Lee’s 8th Annual Back to School Drive,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) from Vice Mayor Reggie Leon’s
Public Affairs Account to assist with purchasing services and goods for B. Lee’s 8th
Annual Back to School Drive on August 7th, 2022.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 27, 2022.
