A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
SENIOR FAMILY CENTER AND POLICE SERVICES IN THE
TOTAL AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDERED
AND SIXTY TWO DOLLARS ($4,462.00) FROM THE GENERAL
FUND ACCOUNTS OF THE POLICE AND PARKS &
SCHOOLTO BACK FOR DEPARTMENTRECREATION A
GIVEAWAY EVENT HOSTED BY VICE MAYOR REGGIE LEON
ON FORSUNDAY, AUGUST 14TH, 2022;PROVIDING
ADOPTION OF REPRESENATIONS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, On Sunday, August 14th, 2022 Vice Mayor Leon, in collaboration with
Foot Locker, will be hosting a back to school giveaway as a gesture to prepare students
for the new and upcoming school year, and
WHEREAS, the event will take place at the Senior Family Center from 12:00pm to
4:00pm, and
WHEREAS, Children will be offered clothing, shoes, haircuts for boys and hair
braiding for girls, and
WHEREAS, valuable community resources will be provided to residents. , and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Leon is requesting authorization for the use of the Senior
Family Center and Police Service for this event to be provided in-kind,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the use of the Senior Family Center in amount of $2,368.00 and Police
Services in the amount of $2,094.00 to be funded from the General Fund Accounts of the
Police and Parks & Recration Departments for the August 14, 2022 Back to School
Giveaway Event hosted by Vice Mayor Reggie Leon.
the in-kind support of police services needed in the amount not to exceed $2,100
for the August 14, 2022 Back to School giveaway event sponsored by Vice Mayor Leon.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
