A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN AN
AMOUNT THOUSANDONE DOLLARSTO NOT EXCEED
($1,000) IN SUPPORT OF STATE REPRESENATATIVE FELICIA
ROBINSON AND DISTRICT 102’S PARTNERSHIP WITH THE
RESOURCE ROOM FOR THEIR “TEACHER’S LOUNGE
OFCELEBRATION”; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, State Representative Felicia Robinson, a former educator and
administrator, represents District 102, which includes residents living in Miami Gardens,
Miramar, and Pembroke Pines, and
WHEREAS, The Resource Room is a local organization that provides resources
for childcare and parental support in their effort to raise the next generation of young black
leaders who are ready to join efforts at making changes, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens will join State Representative Robinson and
the Resource Room to celebrate local teachers in House District 102 at their "Teacher’s
Lounge Celebration" on August 7th, 2022, and
WHEREAS, this event celebrates teachers and the critical role they played in
student education for more than two years of disrupted learning due to the global
pandemic by showing them they are appreciated, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens is requesting the allocation of One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00) from the Seat 6 Public Affairs account to State Representative
Robinson and District 102’s partnership with The Resource Room for their “TEACHER’S
LOUNGE CELEBRATION”.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) from the Seat 6
Public Affairs Account to support State Representative Robinson And District 102’s
Partnership with The Resource Room For Their “Teacher’s Lounge Celebration”.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 27, 2022.
